Colonist Assistant Privacy Policy

Colonist Assistant reads game data shown to you on colonist.io. It uses that data to track the game, give advice, and carry out moves when you turn on autopilot. It does not send game data to the developer.

Data it reads

While the extension is on, it may read:

• player display names;
• the public game log and public game actions;
• tiles, ports, roads, buildings, and the robber;
• public card totals, points, turn state, trade rates, and legal move targets;
• your own visible resource cards; and
• bank card counts when the room shows them.

The extension does not read game chat, cookies, account tokens, network messages, or hidden card data that Colonist has not shown to you.

How it uses data

The extension uses this data to:

• track known cards and honest ranges for unknown cards;
• suggest legal moves, builds, trades, and other game steps;
• show win estimates; and
• carry out a move when you turn on autopilot in a verified private or all-bot game.

The extension uses the data only for these features.

Where data goes

Game work runs in your browser. The extension has no server, ads, tracking, or usage reports. It does not sell or share game data.

The extension may load card and piece images from Colonist or its image host. Those image links contain no game or player data.

Chrome may sync your extension settings through your Google account when Chrome Sync is on. Google runs that sync. The developer cannot read the synced settings.

Data it stores

The extension stores:

• settings, such as whether hints or private/all-bot autopilot are on;
• the overlay place on screen;
• events from the current game;
• possible card states made from those events;
• a short game summary; and
• a bounded set of current-game decision diagnostics, including board snapshots, search candidates, and timing data, used to replay and diagnose advice or automation failures.

It keeps current-game events, card states, the game summary, and decision diagnostics in your local Chrome profile. Starting a different game replaces the prior game’s local records. It may keep settings in Chrome Sync.

Permissions

The extension asks for:

• storage, to save settings and current game data; and
• https://colonist.io/*, to read shown game data and add the assistant to Colonist pages.

It does not ask for cookies, browser history, tabs, identity, downloads, web requests, or access to all sites.

Delete your data

Use Reset session to clear the current game’s events, card states, summary, and decision diagnostics. Remove the extension to delete all of its local data. You can clear synced settings through Chrome.

Chrome Web Store data rules

Colonist Assistant uses data only to provide or improve its stated game help features. Its use of data follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use rules.

The store page, the extension, and this page will state any change to how the extension handles data.
